As we conclude an extraordinary year, we want to express our deepest gratitude to each of our supporters, sponsors, volunteers and devoted students. In joint efforts with The Oficina de la Mujer, and The Municipalidad of Santa Cruz we were able to bring two workshops on "How to encourage healthy & positive relationships" and "Myths of romantic love". On these workshops the youth from our program were able to discuss and learned how to distinguish between a relationship that helps one become a better person and another one that causes resentment and hurt, subjects that are very important to work with the teens in order to help them be conscious about building healthy relationships based on love, dialogue and respect and break the cycle of any kind of abuse or violence. Thank you Municipalidad de Santa Cruz for bringing such a valuable tool to our youth.
To promote the commemoration of International day of prevention of violence against women on November 24th, we organized a walk with the kids from La Paz school, to make a call and raise our voices in order to eradicate violence against women.
A big thank you to La Paz School Cabo Velas for this very important initiative, to teacher Claudia, and every participating student, to Cepia and to the Local Police for all the support.
On November 18th we had a closing ceremony for 20 teens that finished the school year successfully. This was a very especial event to us for being our first year and made us reflect on how it was just a dream a year ago. Today the Youth tutoring program is a reality in Brasilito and we are doing our best to continue with the teens in Villareal and to also bring a math tutor for them on 2024! We are thrilled to be part of the lives of these amazing teens, who with dreams and hopes strive to build a better world for themselves and their families. To those who will start next year we welcome you ,and to those who are leaving, we wish you all the best in your new journey, may it be a great success and hopefully we will meet again!
To all our small but mighty team of volunteers, thank you very much for allowing us through you to help so many people. To Kathie Roberts and Pickle on the Hill Brasilito Pickleball people, thank you for the beautiful gifts! The kids and team were super happy!
On November 25th we were given the opportunity to spend a beautiful morning sailing with our youth and team. It was a beautiful experience, and the kids really enjoyed it. We all spend it playing in the water, sharing and bonding with each other. What a joy to the sight!
This experience would not have been possible without the generosity of our friends Jeff and Debra and their friendly staff from Zafira Catamaran Sailing Costa Rica, to whom we want to shout out a big thank you for this unforgettable experience, to many a first time on a catamaran!
